Since music is an integral part of our praise and worship, the parish aspires to offer a wide range of music through the weekend and daily liturgies, and various other liturgical celebrations. Under the direction of Marty Cosgrove, the parish currently has an adult choir, cantors, two children’s choirs and an orchestra. Volunteers are always welcomed for the choir and also as instrumentalists. Rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings for cantors and the adult choir, Tuesday afternoons for the children's choirs and Tuesday evenings for the parish orchestra.
Adult Choir The Adult Choir sings at the 10:30am Mass on Sundays from September through June, as well as on various holy days throughout the year and at concerts in December and May. Rehearsals are on Thursday nights from 7:30 - 9:30pm. A less formal choir sings on Sundays during the summer and rehearses at 10:00am on Sundays, just prior to the 10:30am Mass at which it sings. For more information on these groups, contact Marty Cosgrove.
Children’s Choir The Junior Choir is open to children in grades K-2. From September through June, they sing once every 4-6 weeks at the 9:00am Mass and rehearse on Tuesday afernoons from 3:45 - 4:15pm.
The Cantate Choir is open to children in grades 3-8. From September through June, they sing once every 4-6 weeks at the 9:00am Mass and rehearse on Tuesday afternoons from 4:15-5:15pm.
Both children's choirs also sing twice a year at local retirement homes and at concerts in December and May with the Adult Choir.
For more information on the Children's Choirs, contact Marty Cosgrove.
Cantors Cantors are the leaders of song at all weekend and holy day liturgies. They encourage the assembly's singing and are responsible for teaching new songs and acclamations to the assembly. A pleasant singing voice and good public speaking skills are required. Cantors may be scheduled on Sundays at their convenience and preference. Rehearsals are on Thurday evenings from 7:00-7:30pm and by appointment. For more information, contact Marty Cosgrove.
Parish Orchestra The Parish Orchestra plays at the 12:15pm Mass on the first Sunday of the month and is open to any instrumentalists who can display a reasonable amount of proficiency on their instrument. Good sight reading skills are a must. Transposition skills (when applicable) are a plus, but not required. The Parish Orchestra rehearses on the Tuesday night prior to the first Sunday of the month, from 7:00 - 8:30pm.
