Dear friends in Christ,
As I announced here two Sundays ago, our school principal, Vincent Spadoni, will be leaving St. Elizabeth School this summer to become the president of the Consortium of Catholic Academies in Washington, D.C.
As a parish we will celebrate Mr. Spadoni’s tremendous legacy to our school at our 12:15 Mass on Sunday, June 9, with a reception immediately following. All are invited to come thank him for the extraordinary blessing he has been to so many of our children and to our entire parish family.
Two weeks ago I also announced that Mrs. Mary Penny, our school vice principal, was in the final stages of the archdiocesan process of being appointed as the new principal of St. Elizabeth School. This process included advertising the position nationally and interviews with the Superintendent of Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Washington, Mr. William Ryan, and his staff.
I am happy to announce that this process is now complete and Mrs. Penny was unanimously endorsed as our top pick. She has agreed to become our new principal effective July 1
st. You can read more about her background below. We are extraordinarily blessed to have a leader of Mrs. Penny’s caliber ready to maintain the excellence of our school!
On behalf of our entire St. E’s family and from the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank Mr. Spadoni and congratulate Mrs. Penny. Please pray for them both as they each enter these exciting and challenging new phases of their careers.
